Fadel Gheit is Managing Director
and Senior Energy Analyst for Oppenheimer & Co. Inc.
and has been covering the Oil
& Gas Industry for 20 years.
Mr. Gheit covers 26 energy companies
and at the beginning of 2005 he recommended that investors buy shares
in all of them: from major integrated oil companies like Exxon Mobil
to refiners like Tesoro and independents like Anadarko and Kerr-McGee.
As such, Mr. Gheit distinguished himself as one of the earliest
and most correct bulls on the recent rally in energy stocks.
Prior to joining Wall Street in 1986,
Mr. Gheit worked for Mobil and has oil and gas industry experience
in energy industry project management, planning and management consulting.
Mr. Gheit has been named to The Wall Street Journal
All-Star Annual Analyst Survey four times in the last 10 years and
was the top-ranked energy analyst on the Bloomberg Annual Analyst
survey in 2003 and 2004. He
is one of the most quoted analysts on energy issues by the the domestic
and international media and is
a frequent guest on TV and radio business programs including recent
appearences on Nightly Business
Report on PBS and In The Money on CNN.
"Most other analysts can do only one or two things well,"
said Michael Hoover, manager of the Excelsior Energy and Natural
Resources Fund, an Oppenheimer client. "Fadel has all the important
perspectives - modeling, calculating reserves and having sources
in politics."
In an
August 2005 New York Times article,
Mr. Gheit, a native of Egypt, said that "there are better stock
pickers, but I think I know what goes on in the hearts and minds
of people" in the oil-producing Middle East.
