Dr. David H. Resler is Managing Director and Chief
Economist at Nomura Securities International, Inc., where he oversees
the Economics Department. The Department has responsibility for
providing economic analysis for the trading and sales operations.
In addition, Dr. Resler publishes a daily commentary on the economy
and financial markets and produces a weekly newsletter and forecast
calendar as well as periodic reports on key topical issues and economic
developments that may affect the economic outlook. Dr. Resler writes
a regular column for the Nikkei Financial Daily and his views and
analysis appear frequently in the financial press including Business
Week, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Financial
Times, The Economist, and Barron's.
Prior to joining Nomura in March 1986, Dr. Resler also served as
Chief Financial Economist at the First National Bank of Chicago
from 1981 to 1986, as Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank or St.
Louis from 1979-1981, as Assistant Professor of Economics at St.
Louis University, Adjunct Associate Professor at Washington University,
and Lecturer at Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern
University.
Dr. Resler graduated with honors from Muskingum College in Concord,
Ohio and received his Masters and Ph.D. from The Ohio State University.
