Speaker:

Dr. William C. Dudley is the executive vice president of the Markets Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He is also the manager of the System Open Market Account for the Federal Open Market Committee. The Markets Group oversees domestic open market and foreign exchange trading operations and the provisions of account services to foreign central banks.

Prior to joining the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in 2007, Mr. Dudley was a partner and managing director at Goldman, Sachs & Company and was the firm's chief U.S. economist for a decade. In this role he was a featured speaker of the Washington Association of Money Managers annually. Earlier in his career at Goldman Sachs, he had a variety of roles including a stint when he was responsible for the firm's foreign exchange forecasts. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs in 1986, he was a vice president at the former Morgan Guaranty Trust Company. Mr. Dudley was an economist at the Federal Reserve Board from 1981 to 1983.

Dan Fuss began his investment career in 1958 and has been with Loomis, Sayles & Company, L.P. since 1976.

He is Vice Chairman of the firm and co-manager of numerous institutional accounts for the $58 billion fixed income group.

Mr. Fuss also manages and co-manages a variety of mutual funds with assets over $10 billion – including the flagship Loomis Sayles Bond Fund, Loomis Sayles Strategic Income Fund, Loomis Sayles Institutional High Income Fund, Loomis Sayles Global Markets Fund and Loomis Sayles Investment Grade Bond Fund.

In 2000, he was named to the Fixed Income Analysts Society’s Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions and lifetime achievements in the advancement of the analysis of fixed income securities and portfolios. He is past president of the Boston Security Analysts Society.

Mr. Fuss earned a Bachelor of Science and Masters in Business Administration from Marquette University. He served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1958 and held the rank of Lieutenant.

Margaret Cannella is Managing Director and Global Head of Credit Research and U.S. Corporate Strategy at JPMorgan. Margaret is a winner of Institutional Investor's Fixed Income All America Team award thirteen consecutive years running in both retailing and consumer products. In 2007, Margaret was also elected to the Fixed Income Hall of Fame by the board of the Fixed Income Analyst Society.

Ms. Cannella is Chair of Princeton-in-Asia, a 110-year old organization sponsoring students to work in Asia, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Co-chair of Women in Leadership Alumnae group of Princeton University, and a Board Member and Chair of the Audit Committee of Trickle Up, a microfinance enterprise.

Margaret holds a BA degree in East Asian studies from Princeton University and an MBA degree in finance and accounting from Columbia University Graduate School of Business.

Kevin M. Warsh is Governor, Federal Reserve Board, and took office on February 24, 2006, to fill an unexpired term ending January 31, 2018.

Prior to his appointment to the Board, Mr. Warsh served as Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and as Executive Secretary of the National Economic Council from 2002 until February 2006. His primary areas of responsibility included domestic finance, banking and securities regulatory policy, and consumer protection. He advised the President and senior administration officials on issues related to the U.S. economy, particularly fund flows in the capital markets, securities, banking, and insurance issues. Mr. Warsh participated in the President’s Working Group on Financial Markets and served as the administration’s chief liaison to the independent financial regulatory agencies.

From 1995 to 2002, Mr. Warsh was a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Department of Morgan Stanley & Co., in New York, ultimately serving as Vice President and Executive Director. He served as financial adviser to numerous companies across a range of industry sectors, including manufacturing, basic materials, professional services, and high tech. In that capacity, Mr. Warsh helped structure capital markets transactions and facilitated fixed income and equity financings.

Martin Fridson is “perhaps the most well-known figure in the high yield world,” according to Investment Dealers’ Digest.

Over a 25-year span with brokerage firms including Salomon Brothers, Morgan Stanley, and Merrill Lynch, he became known for his innovative work in credit analysis and investment strategy. Fridson received his B.A. cum laude in history from Harvard College and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

He has served as president of the Fixed Income Analysts Society, governor of the Association for Investment Management, and Research (now CFA Institute), and director of the New York Society of Security Analysts.

In 2000, The Green Magazine called Fridson’s Financial Statement Analysis “one of the most useful investment books ever.” The Financial Management Association International named Fridson the Financial Executive of the Year in 2002. In 2000, he became the youngest person ever inducted into the Fixed Income Analysts Society Hall of Fame.

David H. Resler is Managing Director and Chief Economist at Nomura Securities International, Inc., where he oversees the Economics Department. The Department has responsibility for providing economic analysis for the trading and sales operations. In addition, Dr. Resler publishes a daily commentary on the economy and financial markets and produces a weekly newsletter and forecast calendar as well as periodic reports on key topical issues and economic developments that may affect the economic outlook. Dr. Resler writes a regular column for the Nikkei Financial Daily and his views and analysis appear frequently in the financial press including Business Week, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Financial Times, The Economist, and Barron's.

Prior to joining Nomura in March 1986, Dr. Resler also served as Chief Financial Economist at the First National Bank of Chicago from 1981 to 1986, as Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank or St. Louis from 1979-1981, as Assistant Professor of Economics at St. Louis University, Adjunct Associate Professor at Washington University, and Lecturer at Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Frank E. Nothaft was appointed to the position of chief economist in December 2001 and vice president in March 2004. In this position, Nothaft is responsible for primary and secondary mortgage market analysis and research, macroeconomic analysis and forecasting. Nothaft is also involved in the analysis of affordable lending activities and policy issues affecting the housing industry.

Prior to being named chief economist, Nothaft served as deputy chief economist for Freddie Mac from 1988, and as a senior economist from November 1986. Nothaft was an economist with the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System from 1983 until 1986, where he served in the mortgage and consumer finance section and as the assistant to Governor Henry C. Wallich.
